Accounts overview

Connect and manage the trading accounts Trada copies and journals — grouped by the login you connected them with.

Trada connects to the trading accounts it copies and journals for you. This section covers how those accounts are organized, how they count against your plan, and how to add and look after them.

Understand the accounts model

You connect Forex and CFD accounts on six platforms: MetaTrader 4, MetaTrader 5, cTrader, TradeLocker, DXTrade, and MatchTrader. cTrader connects through a secure sign-in (OAuth); the others connect with the login your broker or prop firm gave you. Futures platforms — NinjaTrader, Rithmic, and DXFeed — are coming and can't be connected yet. See Supported platforms.

Each time you add an account, Trada saves the login you used as a connection. One connection can hold several trading accounts: a TradeLocker, DXTrade, MatchTrader, or cTrader login often gives access to more than one, and you choose which to import. A MetaTrader login holds one account.

The Accounts page shows your accounts in two views, switched with Flat and Nested:

  • Nested (the default) shows one row per connection. Expand it to see its trading accounts.

  • Flat lists every trading account as its own row, with its platform, broker, server, balance, and connection status.

Count accounts against your plan

Every trading account you add counts toward your plan's account limit, including disconnected ones and accounts from partnered prop firms and brokers. Connections themselves don't count — only the trading accounts you import.

When your plan is full, Add Account reads Limit Reached, and Import Accounts tells you how many more your plan allows. To make room, upgrade your plan or delete an account you no longer need. See Plans & billing.

Connecting an account from a partnered prop firm or broker can grant you that partner's plan at no cost. See Partner accounts & offers.

Read connection statuses

Each trading account's Connection column reads Connected, Syncing, Sync error, Blocked, Unavailable, or Disconnected. Trada keeps connected accounts up to date on its own — the Accounts page has no Sync button. Balances are shown in USD.

For what each status means and how to fix a problem, see Syncing, status & troubleshooting.

Connect an account

1

Open the Accounts page

Go to Accounts and select Add Account.

2

Enter the connection details

Give the connection a Name, choose the Platform, and pick your broker's Server. For cTrader, select Authenticate cTrader and approve Trada on cTrader's sign-in page. For every other platform, enter your login and select Add Account.

3

Import your accounts

On cTrader, TradeLocker, DXTrade, and MatchTrader, Import Accounts opens next: keep the accounts you want ticked and select Import N Account(s). MetaTrader accounts are added straight away.

Full walkthrough in Connect a Forex or CFD account. If a connection stalls or shows an unexpected status, see Syncing, status & troubleshooting.
