# Syncing, status & troubleshooting

Read an account's connection status, see how Trada keeps accounts up to date, and fix the connection problems you are most likely to hit.

Every connected account shows a live connection status on the **Accounts** page. This page explains what each status means, how Trada keeps your accounts up to date, and what to do when an account stops syncing.

Sample values are illustrative.</p></figcaption></figure>

## Read connection status

The **Connection** column shows one of six statuses:

| Status           | What it means                                                                                                                                         |
| ---------------- | ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- |
| **Connected** | Trada is logged in and the account is syncing normally. |
| **Syncing** | Trada is starting or refreshing the account's connection. It usually moves to **Connected** on its own within moments. |
| **Sync error** | Syncing failed for a reason Trada couldn't pin down, often a temporary one. Trada keeps retrying. |
| **Blocked** | The broker is refusing the account — for example, the login was rejected, the account was disabled, or automated trading is turned off at the broker. |
| **Unavailable** | The broker no longer lists the account — for example, it was closed or a challenge ended. |
| **Disconnected** | Trada is not syncing the account. You disconnected it, your plan no longer covers it, or its connection dropped. |

When Trada knows the reason for a problem, hold your pointer over the status to see it — for example, "The broker rejected the account credentials." or "Automated trading is disabled for this account at the broker."

In the **Nested** view, each login also has a **Validation** column that reads **Valid**, **Pending**, or **Invalid** — whether Trada could log in with the saved details. See [Connections & cTrader sign-in](/connecting-accounts/credential-sets-oauth.md).

## Know how accounts stay up to date

The **Accounts** page has no **Sync** button. Trada keeps connected accounts up to date on its own:

* **Balance, equity, and trades** update as the broker sends changes.
* **The Accounts page** refreshes itself every few seconds, so a status change shows up without reloading.
* **Refresh accounts**, on a login's row in the **Nested** view, re-checks the saved login and looks for trading accounts added since you connected. It does not change balances or reconnect accounts. It is not shown for MetaTrader 4 and MetaTrader 5.

Trada also sends an in-app notification when an account's connection changes. Look under the bell icon for **Account Disconnected**, **Account Connection Issue**, **Credential Invalid**, **Automated Trading Disabled**, or **Account Connected**.

## Reconnect a disconnected account

{% stepper %}
{% step %}

### Find the account

In **Accounts**, find the account that reads **Disconnected** — on its own row in the **Flat** view, or inside its login in the **Nested** view. In the **Nested** view, a red number in a login's **Accounts** column counts its disconnected accounts.
{% endstep %}

{% step %}

### Select Connect

Select **Connect** (the network icon) on the account's row. Trada reconnects with the login it already has saved — you don't enter it again.
{% endstep %}

{% step %}

### Check the result

The account should read **Connected** again, sometimes after a short **Syncing** step. If it moves to **Blocked** or **Sync error** instead, the broker is still refusing it — see the table below.
{% endstep %}
{% endstepper %}

{% hint style="info" %}
Disconnected accounts still count toward your plan's account limit. If you have more accounts than your plan allows — for example, after a downgrade — **Connect** leaves the account **Disconnected**. Upgrade, or delete accounts you no longer need, then try again. See [Plans & billing](/plans-and-billing/plans-billing.md).
{% endhint %}

## Fix common connection problems

| What you see | Likely cause | What to do |
| ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ | -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- | -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- |
| **Disconnected**, and you didn't disconnect it | The connection dropped, or your plan no longer covers the account. | Select **Connect**. If it stays **Disconnected**, check that you don't have more accounts than your plan allows. |
| **Accounts** says your subscription has ended instead of listing your accounts | Your subscription ended, so Trada disconnected your accounts and paused your copiers. | Resubscribe from **Billing**. Renewing does not reconnect anything on its own: select **Connect** on each account, then start your copiers again. |
| **Blocked** — "The broker rejected the account credentials." or "The broker did not recognise this account login." | The saved login is wrong or has changed. | For a MetaTrader account you just added, delete it and add it again with the correct login. If a working login changed — for example, a new password — contact support. You can't edit a saved login in Trada. |
| **Blocked** — automated trading, Expert Advisors, or API trading is off | The broker doesn't allow automated trading on the account. | Ask your broker or prop firm to allow automated trading on the account, then select **Connect**. |
| **Blocked** — "The broker has blocked this account." or "The broker has disabled this account." | The broker has stopped the account. | Resolve it with your broker or prop firm. Trada can't unblock it. |
| **Unavailable** | The broker no longer lists the account. | Check with your broker or prop firm. If the account is gone for good, delete it to free its slot — deleting also removes its trades and history in Trada. |
| **Sync error** that lasts | A temporary problem with the broker or the connection. If the broker is limiting requests, Trada retries on its own. | Wait a few minutes. If it lasts more than about 30 minutes, contact support. |
| A cTrader account stopped syncing | cTrader no longer accepts Trada's access — for example, you revoked it on cTrader's side. | Select **Re-authorize** on the cTrader login's row in the **Nested** view. See [Re-authorize cTrader](/connecting-accounts/credential-sets-oauth.md). |
| A login reads **Invalid** in the **Validation** column | Trada could not log in with the saved details. | Handle it like the **Blocked** credential rows above. |
| **Connect** or **Add Account** says "Early access is full, so this isn't available yet." | Trada is admitting traders in stages, and your place hasn't opened. | Nothing to fix. Your account is ready for when a place opens. |

## Keep copiers in mind

{% hint style="warning" %}
A copier does not pause on its own when one of its accounts disconnects or reads **Blocked** or **Sync error**. Get the account back to **Connected**, then check the copier and the open positions on every account in it. You can't start a copier while one of its accounts is **Blocked**. See [Troubleshooting copiers](/copy-trading/troubleshooting.md).
